After 9 years of photographing snowy owls I have seen A LOT. What I never seen before until this year was territorial battles for the tallest tree & perfect perch specifically on spruce & pine trees.
In this photo the male snowy owl (smaller and a lot more white) got the best perch first. The female snowy owl was not pleased with this. The male stood his ground & remained on his perch which I was incredibly impressed with.

I received a gift camera at a young age, and there has been one at my side ever since. A minor concentration of my hobby came when I attended high school, (in the early 90’s) when I learned about film processing in a dark room, developing and making prints. It gave me skills I still use today. Life for a while hit Fast Forward, a whirlwind of change, from black and white, to color, then zip past the whole transition to digital, and land in 2011.
