For the last 3 years I have photographed the beautiful snowy momma goddess. This was taken last year. She left the end of the 2nd week of February. I knew something was wrong, my heart, soul, everything within me told me something was wrong. No one knows what happened to her. I spent considerable time last year and this year looking for her, but she never returned. There have been many 'imposters' (I don't mean that in a negative way) who have staked her territory, but they are not HER.
Many 'think' the others are her, but every year I have spent the most time with her, silently observing, just sitting in her field, talking to her, telling her how beautiful she is. I spent a lot of time heart broken, as this is thee owl, that turned my life around, that saved it in fact.
I love all wildlife an will continue to photograph snowy owls, but it's just not the same. I had a connection with 'her' that many have seen and couldn't believe.
Wherever she is I hope she is ok, and if she's no longer with us I hope she didn't suffer much.
Last year 3 snowy owls died in her territory.

Dedicated to Steve, thank you for finding her for me all those years ago while I struggled with (and still do) with lyme disease. You and 'her' changed my life for the better, forever

So graceful and soooo beautiful they are. :-) I can only imagine how many countless hours you spend capturing them. Your patience and diligence pay off too. Your amazing images of them are proof of this. ;-) FV

What a beautiful capture, so sad to read your story. I hope she only changed her territory and is still alive, perhaps you will see her once again. Love your owl captures,. LF
