I absolutely ADORE short eared owls. I haven't been able to get out much this year and these owls are by far the easiest to capture as you can from your car window. They are a fair bit smaller than the usual owls I photograph (snowy, great horned & great gray owls) & skittish as well. I absolutely adore photos of owls with their heads turned a complete 180 degrees behind them, it's one of the MANY things that keep me in utter awe of them:)
