This winter I was beyond blessed to make some new friends who kindly allowed me on their property to photograph short eared owls. These beautiful owls are very skittish so I photographed them while in a blind so I would stress them. The land owner also asked me NOT to post any photos of what I found until the owls were gone.
Their ear tufts are actually called plumicorns, which I think is the bees knees.

It gave me skills I still use today. Life for a while hit Fast Forward, a whirlwind of change, from black and white, to color, then zip past the whole transition to digital, and land in 2011.
