Description
I cannot even begin to put into words how eternally blessed I am to have been able to spend time with this adorable little northern hawk owl who has made a temporary home in a small forest about 25 minutes from my apartment.
As you all know I LOVE owls, but this little one has COMPLETELY stolen my heart and captivated me beyond any comprehension.
This darling is a day time hunter. S/he catches their prey and caches it. This means it eats what it can and shoves the rest into a tree cavity or crevice for a later date so when food becomes scares this darling will have something to eat.
In the almost 3 months I have spent observing this darling, I have witnessed him/her visit close to 50 caches. This is equivalent to 50 tiny pantries full of food. I have watch this darling hunt, preen, do his mating call & so much more I am so excited to share with you.
Months and months of watching this gorgeous owl, I've only captured him stretching a handful of times, look at those little legs :)

Love the intensity in his eyes and such a wonderful view of this owls beautiful and majestic design. I got to see a saw whet owl two weeks ago up close, which was quite special for me. Owls are definitely very special birds. LF
