Introducing great horned owlet #2!
He watched his sister who fledged 6 days prior & how difficult and stressful it was for her to perch in a tree. It literally took her 2 days of being on the ground trying so many tree climbing techniques.
Owlet #2 this was early dawn, his first day out of the nest and on the ground in the rain. He is at the edge of a stream in this photo.
What took his sister 3 days to accomplish he accomplished within 7 hours.
I can't wait to take you on this owlet's journey.
I used a very large lens + a teleconverter to keep a respectful distance from this owlet, snapped a few photos and left him be.
